The prime brisket is what I came here for and I was not disappointed! It was so wonderfully flavorful and tender. The sides were great and the banana pudding was old school delicious comfort food. Paired with a good beer it made for a great experience. You order at the counter and they prep it in front of you. Moving along, you pick your sides cafeteria style and then grab a dessert to finish. It’s open seating or they have a bar inside. Outdoors is a bar and beer garden with televisions for sports. The prices aren’t bad and the atmosphere is friendly and conversational. I don’t know about parking, looked like a large lot though, because it’s a short walk from the hotels at the convention center.

Our first stop in Houston was for BBQ and this place was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. We were greeted upon entry by the nicest staff. Steven was amazing with his recommendations. We both ordered the two meat platter with brisket and pork ribs. The brisket was moist with great seasoning and just the right amount of fat. The pork ribs were also seasoned well and they had a good bite. The sides were incredible especially the potato salad and Brussels sprouts, we also had the corn and the Mac and cheese. Loved the full bar where we ordered a couple of beers to go with our meal. Great first stop in Houston and we will definitely be back!

First time in Texas, out of the few BBQ places I visited, J-Bar-M Barbecue took 1st place for me in Houston visiting Westchase area. A local mentioned this place, same night I orderes a brisket sandwich to go. Brisket was tender moist and savory, the word is they smoke for about 12hrs. Craving some more the following day before I flew out back home I had to go visit again, Second trip, I dined in, and honestly I was annoyed by some flies granted that there was a lot of foot traffic opening their doors, however, I got their brisket tacos, and smoke turkey sandwich, top it off with some Texas hot sauce.. they were both good however the brisket sandwich was my personal favorite. Also I ordered some smoked wings to bring back to Florida, let me tell you! The sauce that they put on the wings, I wanted to DRINK IT! I never had any BBQ sauce or what ever sauce it was, it was full of flavors a slight bump to it but also, they were all well balanced and in tuned with each ingredient in it. Was great, almost as good Salt Lick. They have actual moist brisket and the ribs are fresh and super tender. Biggest problem is deciding between the mustard sauce and the barbecue sauce really good although the meat doesn’t need anything. Dive in too quick to take a picture.

This place is fantastic! First the food: brisket, pork ribs and even turkey were all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Even the sides were good. I've found that it's rare for a BBQ place to get all these things right. Suitably impressed. Second, the building: seems like it's new, but everything is clean and the bus boys are attentive. Only complaint is not having napkins at the table. But other than that, top notch place!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic BBQ spot, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful meats with that perfect smoky char, and the sides were just as impressive, especially the mac and cheese and coleslaw. The service was top-notch; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout our visit. One of the best parts is that the place is dog-friendly, so we could enjoy our meal on the patio with our pup by our side, which made the experience even better. To top it off, the prices were more than fair for the quality and portion sizes we received. Highly recommend this gem for a laid-back, satisfying BBQ experience!
